The Suspension Physics scene file comes from Blender 3D. Although the development of this armature continues, this scene file has been used as a 'sandbox' to solve rather complicated rigging and animation issues. We have used Blender 3D's bendy bones as an example, to replicate the function of a leaf spring and shackle/hinge system with a realistic range-of-motion. We have also used bones and default bone constraints to replicate a telescopic drive-shaft, as well as a cam-and-lever steering system that are driven by the leaf springs and differentials. Because the animation is procedural, RBD physics were also introduced into the armature to further compliment the animation, making the movement feel more natural.
